The grade 7 science resource package on earth surface processes explores multiple aspects on matter. Learners will explore features of matter using Earth Surface Processes. They will quantitatively analyze physical properties through temperature, mass, volume and density.

The goal is for students to be able to understand global citizenship and identify ways that they can be active global citizens. They will identify Canadian and Human Rights, recognizing the importance of the responsibilities that go with these rights. They will consider how their choices, including how they treat those around them, the words that they use, and the products they consume have impacts on others. They will identify issues that are important to them and ways that they could affect positive change in these issues.

Notre microsociété

This unit is intended for the beginning of the school year and lines up with the first unit of inquiry laid out for grade 5 French Immersion. Students will explore how their class can be described as a microsociety where they each contribute their unique values and strengths to create a positive and healthy learning environment.

This resource bundle will extend student’s understanding of ratio and introduce them to the idea of rate / unit rate. Students will work individually as well as in small groups and as a whole class and complete a variety of explorations, exercises, and critical thinking activities.

Students will build upon past experiences with multiplying 1-digit numbers and review vocabulary and strategies for multiplying to 9×9.

This plan would be used when introducing/reviewing multiplication foundational facts at the beginning of grades 3, 4 or 5.
