Cash Flow Frenzy

In this assignment students will look at how a cash flow forecast works and determine if businesses are profitable. The following can be done in small groups, or individually. There are two separate businesses, “Surreal Sweater Company” and “Fancy Feet Sock Business” to investigate.

Similarly, it is important for people to perform personal accounting to make sure they manage their money effectively. Assets and liabilities create your financial health. Assets are what you own, liabilities are what you borrow or are responsible for. Balance Sheet Basics provides students with an opportunity to see realistic assets and liabilities across ages.

Cereal Craze and The 4 P’s

Middle School learners will apply the 4 P’s of marketing to create and market a viable product. Components of financial literacy such as: market share, the role of investors, and the definition of a stock will be explained using the example of a business case for the cereal company, Kellogg’s. In small groups, students will work together and create a unique type of cereal that will appeal to their chosen demographic.
