In this activity, learners will use their “super eyes” to detect if an image or story online is real or fake! Experimenting with photography, learners will also co-construct online tips and tricks for how to spot fake information and determine what is true.

In this activity, learners will be challenged to solve missions in wizard-like style! Through a series of hands-on activities, learners will gain a better understanding of coding vocabulary and concepts that can then be transferred to digitally coded creations.

All-Weather Accessibility

In this outdoor learning activity, learners will solve messy playground problems by building solutions! Whether in fall, winter, or spring, learners will identify areas in their outdoor spaces in which seasonal changes affect the ability to get around. Using natural materials, learners may embark on constructing bridges, paths, tunnels, or water collectors – so that all learners can move and play together!

Busy Beavers

In this outdoor learning activity, learners will build mini-beaver lodges! Using natural materials, as well as techniques from these famous animal construction workers, learners will also re-enact a beloved children’s book, Five Busy Beavers, with their finished projects.

The Three Little Financial Pigs

Young learners will hear the classic “Three Little Pigs” story with a financial twist! Adding and subtracting with Canadian money, learners will practice counting with a variety of bills and coins. Through hands-on building challenges, learners will also gain knowledge and explore the concepts of saving, spending, and investing with money.

Mindfulness: “Bee”-ing In the Present Moment

Students will learn the meaning of mindfulness and why it is useful to learn and practice. Students will learn how their senses help them be mindful by focusing on the present moment. Mindfulness breathing will be taught to students using “BEE Breath”.
