This Grab and Go outdoor activity invites Primary learners to explore balance, stability, and creativity through snow-themed yoga and movement. Students connect with the winter environment as they learn, perform, and create poses inspired by nature.

Scouting for Shapes: Outdoor Shape Hunt

This Grab and Go activity takes Primary learners outside to discover 2D and 3D shapes in the real world while building early geometry and movement skills. Through sketching, exploring, and creating shapes with natural materials, students deepen their understanding of shape attributes and how they appear in everyday environments.

Balanced Bodies: Outdoor Nature Balance Challenge

This Grab and Go activity invites Primary learners to explore balance through fun, outdoor movement stations using natural materials. Students practice stability skills while discovering how rocks, trees, and other natural resources connect to their daily lives. Through hands-on tasks and a creative “nature balance pose,” learners build physical competence and deepen their understanding of the environment around them.

Ta'n telitpiemk - Feelings

This bundle helps Mi’kmaw 110 learners express and understand emotions using first, second, and third person forms. Through interactive lessons, word walls, handouts, and audio-supported activities, students build vocabulary and conversational skills around feelings and emotional states. Learners also explore cultural contexts by connecting emotions to events and experiences, including special days and traditional gatherings. The bundle supports diverse learners with visual aids, formative assessments, and flexible adjustments for classroom use.

Mimajuinu’k - People

This resource bundle supports Mi’kmaw 110 learners in exploring family relationships and kinship terms through interactive speaking, listening, and writing activities. It includes handouts, matching exercises, vocabulary tools, and a family tree project to build foundational language skills. Lessons are scaffolded to promote understanding of everyday expressions and conversational phrases in Mi’kmaw. Designed with Universal Design for Learning principles, it offers flexible supports for diverse learners and integrates cross-curricular connections.

Welteskatimk - Greetings

This bundle is the first of 9 bundles which can optionally be used for teaching the entire Mi’kmaw 110 course. Many of the materials found here were originally part of the language kits used with the older curriculum. Educators should feel free to use the parts of these bundles which suit the needs of learners. This bundle focuses on introductions and getting to know each other.

Grade 11

Investigate Relationships in Ecological Communities

This bundle allows students to investigate local ecological communities using readily available applications and hands-on learning opportunities. It will also get students to stretch their thinking and understanding of this content by hypothesizing the impact on a community after a random organism was removed. This lesson allows for a wide scope of differentiation which allows teachers to individualize the lesson for their needs.
